The opening track, “Miles for Days”, is an upbeat ode to depression. Written while driving through Texas at night, listening to Lucinda Williams, the song’s mournful lyrics sit perfectly atop a stomping cadence that falls somewhere between Peter Gabriel’s “Solsbury Hill” and Paul Simon’s “Cecilia”. On “Keep You In Mind”, Alexander pays tribute to those closest to him that have passed, leaving him to lament the “days of endless summer, before all the changes and forks in the road.” Mono Solo also features two cinematic instrumental pieces that showcase the artist’s first love: the guitar. The title track is centered around a beautiful, space-echoed slide guitar, while the Middle-Eastern-infused “Vegeta” is a finger-picked gem.

No stranger to the road, Shane Alexander has been touring the US, Canada, and most of Europe since his debut in 2005, including stints with Seal, Jewel, John Hiatt, and Suzanne Vega.
Immediately following his record release concert in LA June 1st, Shane Alexander will bring his solo acoustic show to the east coast for 12 dates, before heading to Scandinavia and Europe.
